Types of Assignments - Tests
Instructors use different types of assignments to assess your mastery over course content and objectives to make sure that students are growing and improving in their knowledge of a given area of study! Instructors can choose to have different types of activities, such as final papers, projects, presentations, etc. to be their means of assessment. One additional type of assignment is a traditional test or quiz, which can be created and completed within UNM Learn.
Your instructor creates the test questions and content within UNM Learn and can assign point values to questions. Students can then access the test from within UNM Learn, complete it, submit it for grading and the results are recorded. You can view your grades when your instructor makes them available to you.
Tests are often assigned and made available on specific days and during specific hours. Instructors also have the ability to set a time limit on when the test must be submitted after initially being opened.
Please watch this video below to learn more about how tests are conducted through UNM Learn:
PRO TIP: Tests are another activity that you do not want to leave until the last minute to complete. It is very important to check your course syllabus to anticipate when tests might be coming up in the course in order to set aside enough time to complete it. It is also very important to read through all of the instructions provided by the instructor on the test to make sure that you know if it is timed, if it automatically submits, if any additional items are needed for successful completion, if you are able to retake it, etc.
