Where is the link to log into my Web Conferencing session?

Instructors have the ability to put the link to the Web Conferencing system in a variety of different places, so you may need to look around a bit.  Traditionally, in fully online courses, there is an item in the left side menu labeled Web Conferencing. If you see that--click it.  On the next screen, click the link at the top “Enter here for the Session & Recording links.” This opens the Bb Collaborate List page where current, active Web Conferencing sessions are displayed. Click the Title (link) to launch the session. If you’re not able to find a link, please contact your instructor, or UNM Web Conferencing & Media Support for more information.

Collaborate Error: "Unable to compile...." When I click the link for my session, I get an error.

When I click to enter my session, I get "Collaborate Error: 'Unable to compile...'"

Collaborate Error Message - Unable to compile

This error simply means you have tried to enter a session before it is available.  (The default interval for early entry is 15 minutes, so check with your instructor and check the time.)  When a session is active, you will see the round, purple collaborate icon in the "Available" column.

A purple icon will appear in the Available column when your web conferencing session is active.

There is no link for tonight's session. How do I log in?

Please contact your instructor or UNM Web Conferencing & Media Support for further assistance.

Nothing happens when I click on the session link. Why can't I log in?

This can be caused by a number of different things.

  • First, make sure your system has all required components by going to http://newmedia.unm.edu/help .
  • Download and install the latest versions of Java and Flashplayer, if necessary.
  • Ensure that you’re using a supported browser. Try a different browser to eliminate that as an issue.
  • If you are using a wireless connection on campus you must use Lobo-WiFi (vs. Lobo-Guest).  Simply choose it from your list of available networks, agree to the acceptable use policy, and enter your NetID and password.  Your credentials will be saved for 7 days at a time.

If that does not help, please contact UNM Web Conferencing & Media Support.
