Manually Upload Kaltura Capture Recording
With Kaltura Capture, recordings should automatically upload to an area called My Media in UNM Learn. However, on occasion it may be necessary to recover local recording files from your local computer and upload them manually.If you are recovering local recording files from a Mac
1. From Finder, Click Go / Go to Folder…
2. Enter “~/Library/Preferences/Kaltura/Capture/Recordings” [without the quotes].
3. Click Go.
4. Find recording files by locating files with kind MPEG-4 movie or (.mp4).
(Note: It may be helpful to change your view to ‘in a list’ and sorting by ‘Kind’)
Preview the recording files by double-clicking them. Once you have found the recording file you would like to manually upload, continue to step 5.
5. Create a copy of the recording, and place it somewhere accessible such as your Desktop.
6. Go to your Learn course/ My Media/ and upload the recording using the Add New/Upload Media menu.
If you are recovering local recording files from a PC
1. Open File Explorer ( + E).
2. In the address bar, enter “%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Kaltura\Capture\Recordings” [without the quotes].
3. Press Enter.
4. Find recordings by locating files with type MP4 File or (.mp4).
(Note: It may be helpful to change your view to ‘Details’ and sorting by ‘Type’)
Preview the recording files by double-clicking them. Once you have found the recording file you would like to manually upload, continue to step 5.
5. Create a copy of the recording, and place it somewhere accessible such as your Desktop.
6. Go to your Learn course/ My Media/ and upload the recording using the Add New/Upload Media menu.
If you are attempting to manually upload a Kaltura Capture Recording containing two videos, please create a support ticket with UNM Learn Support.
