Using Mashups for Student Posts
The media tools inside UNM Learn make it possible for students to upload existing audio or video files, or create new ones, then use Add Content > Kaltura Media to add them anywhere they have the Content Editor (the text formatting tools). They can extra dimension to Discussion, Journal. or Blog posts, or have submit video or audio files through the Assignment tool.
(Note: The Center for Digital Learning is offering regular open labs, where you can get one-on-one answers to questions about YOUR course. Take a look at the schedule: Workshops and Open Labs Schedule .)
Creating Media - Kaltura Capture or 'A La Carte'
Like instructors, students can create videos by downloading, linking and using the Kaltura Capture desktop recording app. Once Capture is set up correctly, completing a recording gives the option to upload the video to My Media in UNM Learn. In the steps below, once a video has been loaded to My Media, the user simply needs to select the desired video.
Instructors and students can also record videos 'a la carte' on their phones etc., and save them to their computer or other storage device. This workflow means there are a couple of steps to upload the video to their My Media collection, as illustrated below.
