About the Program

The University of New Mexico's Anderson School of Management (Anderson) is pleased to offer a degree completion program for a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in General Management.

Anderson is well-recognized for delivering first-rate educational opportunities to students. The BBA is designed for students from a wide variety of backgrounds including the liberal arts, sciences, education, law, business, and other fields. Courses in the BBA are designed to provide a solid foundation in business principles. Anderson offers a variety of career services and internship opportunities to students.

Earning a BBA General Management degree from Anderson will prepare students to run a successful, competitive company and interact with clients, employees, shareholders, etc. While in the program, students can expect to take courses in accounting, finance, organizational management, business law, ethics, marketing, and more.

Learning Goals

Anderson School of Management Mission Statement:

The goals of Anderson School of Management's Assurance of Learning activities are to:

  • continuously improve teaching and learning activities within the college.

Admissions

Tuition and Fees

The total cost per credit hour is $442.18 and is comprised of: $394.80 base tuition + $10.52 college differential + $36.86 upper-division course premium. There is a student technology fee charged each semester. It is $150 in the Fall, $150 in the Spring, and $20 in the Summer. There may be additional costs, depending on the class. Additional costs are often for textbooks, supplemental course materials, and proctoring fees.

The BBA Accelerated Online Program offers all of the courses associated with the major and concentration requirements needed to complete the degree in an online, eight-week format. 

Admission Requirements

In addition to the UNM undergraduate admissions requirements, Anderson School of Management requires the following:

  1. Completion of Phase I coursework. Please refer to the BBA General Management degree planner for more information.
  2. A minimum grade of "C" and an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all required pre-admission coursework.
  3. An overall combined GPA of 2.5 on all University of New Mexico and transfer coursework.
  4. You must be admitted to UNM before you can be admitted to Anderson. For more information on applying to UNM, refer to the UNM Admissions page.
  5. Send official transcripts from all institutions attended to the UNM Office of Admissions, apply@unm.edu. Please notify your advisor if you have academic coursework in progress from another institution, i.e. CNM.

Starting the Application Process

To begin the application process for any accelerated online program, use the Albuquerque Campus Undergraduate Application. In the Academics section of the application, you will be prompted to select your Intended Field of Study. For this program, select:  Business Admin – Online (not available to freshmen).

 

 

 

Degree Requirements

To graduate with a BBA, a student must complete a minimum of 120 credit hours.  Anderson's Phase I coursework includes the University's General Education requirements. Students may also transfer coursework from other accredited institutions to fulfill these requirements. The Anderson Core includes courses that will fulfill the University's 3 credit hour U.S. and Global Diversity and Inclusion requirement.  

Degree requirements for the BBA General Management include:

The major requirements for completing the BBA include a total of 43 credit hours - consisting of 31 credit hours of core management courses and 12 hours of upper-division (300-level or above) management courses from four different concentration areas.  More information regarding additional degree requirements (e.g., free electives, upper division humanities) can be found under the Degree Requirements tab or on the BBA General Management degree planner.

Special course sections are scheduled for Accelerated Online Program students and offered on a cyclical basis.  Look for the courses in the current schedule of classes with a course comment that reads "Limited to managed online program students only."  Below is a listing of all of the required courses and elective courses available for the concentration.

To complete an undergraduate degree, students are required to fulfill general education and college-specific requirements.

Additional Course Information

UNM operates on a semester calendar of Summer, Fall, and Spring.  Course schedules are available during each semester's registration period.  Registration opens in early April for the Summer and Fall Semesters and early November for the Spring Semester.

To earn an undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico, the following requirements must be met: 

  • A minimum 30 hours of coursework completed at UNM (UNM Residency Requirement)
  • 50% of the Major completed at UNM
  • 50% of the Concentration completed at UNM
