Academic Support for Online Students
UNM Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL)
Formerly known as the Center for Academic Support (CAPS), the Student Learning Assistance at the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) provides an array of services.
For undergraduate students, there are online tutoring services, virtual learning strategies consultations and workshops, and the Online Writing Lab. OWL gives personalized feedback on outlines and rough drafts. They will even review resumes and cover letters. Papers may be submitted in English, Spanish, or any language taught at UNM. GrOWL, the Graduate Online Writing Lab offers similar services for graduate students.
All are welcome to search through the YouTube channel. Posts include common online learning myths, time management tips, and a tour of their online tutoring services, among many others.
UNM instructors do see improvement in the students who utilize tutoring services.
