In Fall 2025, the University of New Mexico is launching a new way to share the stories behind its digital innovation efforts. The Digital Mesa, an inaugural newsletter created by UNM Academic Technologies, UNM Online, and the Institute of Design and Innovation (IDI), highlights the people, projects, and ideas shaping how teaching, learning, and technology intersect across the University.

When it comes to career planning, the UNM Office of Career Services is a great place to start. But for many students, especially those learning online or from a distance, figuring out how to access those resources can feel overwhelming. To help break it down, I sat down with two of Career Services’ Career Peer Guides (CPGs)—Jacob Garcia and Eliza Evans—to talk about the services they offer, how online students can connect with them, and what makes this peer-led program so impactful.
